Dances with .....euh...Foxes

I have been following the family lives of two Foxes with cubs and it has been a great joy to do. One Fox in particular let's me get really close to her when she is out hunting for Greylag Geese. Sometimes i see her out in the field crawling towards a group of Geese and i know it won't take long for her to catch pne despite her old age and one leg not working as it should. When she returns to her den i carefully choose the right position where she will pass me and sometimes she walks by at only 2 meters. The thrill i feel when that happens is something out of this world!

I hope to be able to follow the two families for some time but the youngsters are allready growing tall so it won't take long before they decide to go out and explore this world on their own.

If you are interested in doing a 1:1 workshop on Foxes with me or perhaps one of the other workshops i host then have a look at the website: http://www.jeroenstel.com

  4. Hi all,

Really, you have created a nice site about wildlife. The gray fox's ability to climb trees is shared only with the Asian raccoon dog among canids. Its strong, hooked claws allow it to scramble up trees to escape many predators such as the domestic dog,the coyote or or arboreal food sources. The gray fox is a solitary hunter and is largely omnivorous. Thanks.....
